CRG uncovers mismanagement in the Sheboygan sheriffs department

The guys at CRG are (in)famous for using Wisconsin’s open records law to dig up dirt on all levels of state government — this time, they have discovered improprieties in the Sheboygan sheriffs office. It appears that officers are allowed (depending on your point of view, encouraged) to serve as security officers to private interests, while under the authoritative umbrella of the police department.

Formal complaints have been forwarded to the Sheboygan County District Attorney’s office alleging violations to Wisconsin statutes. See CRG’s press release and their website for additional information.

HT to Badger Blogger for bringing Citizens for Responsible Government’s most recent shenanigans to my attention.

P.S. Happy Thanksgiving! Hope it was good :)
